Description
"The Flu Season"is a tour de force not only of emotion but of language. It’s frightening, it’s intoxicating. And it’s very funny. Will Eno, Ionesco-like Absurdist, reminds us that we all talk past each other and never-ever listen. Since we are all, to some degree, the playwrights of our own lives, questions take on deep shadows from the actions onstage as well as actions in our lives. Self-consciously intelligent, dancing ever on the edge of absurdity, "The Flu Season" takes place at a "Psychiatric Retreat Center," at which a dog-eared man meets a woman in a scenario that receives a painful injection of reality, faced with a love story M.I.AAs riveting as the characters are, the real star of this play is the caged panther of a script. Ambivalent and rife with wordplay, "The Flu Season" is at once manic and strangely contained.
